We have a hardwood parquet, stained and sealed floor in our dining room which was refinished 4 years ago. Because dining room chairs are commonly slid around on hardwood floors, you don't want to scratch floors with the bottoms of wooden chair legs. First, I got the hammer-in felt cushions. Those failed to stay hammered in. I had tried the knitted turtleneck fabric sock type, then, the knitted turtleneck fabric sock type, again, over chair legs to which I'd applied tacky carpet tape, which worked poorly, then, I went to the brown silicone stretchy chair leg bottom cap type covers with felt pads on the bottom. Those wouldn't stay on well, and the thin felt glued to the bottoms eventually became worn and flattened. The bottoms of the chairlegs are oddly shaped. The only thing that has worked well thus far has been these aggressively sticky, thickish, felt pads. I cut them to the odd shape of the bottoms of the wooden chair legs with a template I created and, VOILA! They've remained adhered to the chair bottoms admirably and I don't have scratched-up floors. Just clean the bottoms of the chair legs with 91% isopropyl alcohol and let dry before applying these felt pads. They're VERY good.
